Description
A fantastic example of how good and food friendly ripasso can be when it’s done right. This has loads of rich, ripe fruit but that’s backed up be spice notes and tangy acidity. A surefire winner at any backyard BBQ.
“I’ve always liked this wine, sitting pretty as a double-fermented expression with a lighter framework of tannins melded to the density serviced by the double fermentation approach devised here: fresh wine re-fermented with 30% whole, semi-dried grapes. Notes of cherry amaro, porcini, lilac and riffs on the larger format wood, conferring an earthy breadth to the wine without detracting from freshness. Highly versatile and delicious.” – James Suckling
This is the original Supervenetian created by Masi in 1964 and internationally recognized as a wine of ?stupendous body and complexity,? the prototype for a new category of wines from the Veneto inspired by the Amarone production method.
This blend of Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara is exceptionally versatile. Good with pasta dishes dressed with rich sauces (meat or mushrooms); full-blooded grilled or roast red meat, and game. Ideal with well-aged cheese.
