Description
91 Points James Suckling & Natalie MacLean
Gavi is seriously underappreciated, but that just means great deals for savvy wine aficionados. This is loaded with rich fruit flavours, but it’s also zesty and refreshing.
“Gavi is always beautiful. Sliced pears and lemons here with a hint of mango. It’s medium bodied, creamy and bright.” – James Suckling
Ample nose, with an intense bouquet featuring floral notes, vanilla, lemon and apples. On the palate, dry, full-bodied, well-balanced and elegant. Excellent as an aperitif, and delicious with hors-d’oeuvres, shellfish, and chicken dishes.
Since 1878, the Fontanafredda Estate & Winery, located in the heart of Piedmont’s Langhe region, has been a benchmark producer of Barolo and Barbera, crafting wines that deftly balance deep aromas and concentration of fruit with elegance.
