85% Chenin Blanc, 15% Viognier
W.O. Western Cape
Grapes are grown and sourced from the Breederiver wine region which were identified as excellent growing
areas for Chenin Blanc and Viognier. Most of the vineyards are planted on the gently rolling valley floor next to
the river and the soils are mainly shale and sandstone with good drainage. This area produces medium
yielding vines with highly concentrated fruit aromas. All vines are trellised and excellent canopy management
is practiced during the growing season to protect the bunches from the hot summer days. Grapes were hand
sorted and carefully selected then lightly pressed to preserve the primary fruit characteristics. The clear juice
was fermented in stainless steel tanks for 10 days. Only after fermentation the 2 components were blended
and left on the lease for 4 months before it was prepared for bottling.
Pale yellow straw colour. This unique marriage of two varieties unites perfectly in the glass with fresh apricots,
white peach and lovely floral notes. The palette entry is creamy with a fresh crisp acidity on the finish.
