Description
Famille Carabello-Baum
With its golden hue, this Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru reveals delicate aromas of lemon and white peach accompanied by vanilla and a touch of oak. Initially, on the palate the wine is fresh, but rapidly its power and generosity are revealed. The richness of the vintage brings some unctuousness, which is here harmoniously balanced by a beautiful minerality.
“Morgeot” is the largest Premier Cru of Chassagne-Montrachet. With no less than 21 different climates, it benefits from clay and limestone-rich soils and a south-easterly exposure in the Côte de Beaune, resulting in an intense and full-bodied Chardonnay with long aging potential. First planted in the 15th century, “Morgeot” shares its renowned terroir between Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Fermentation and ageing in the same French oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation. Ageing on fine lees. 11 months in 20% new French oak barrels. Fining and light filtration before bottling.
100% Chardonnay
