Valle dell’Acate (literally “Acate Valley”) is located in the historic Bidini domain, amid the winding hills of Valle del Dirillo.
Giuseppe Jacono founded the cantina at the end of the 19th century. The Jacono family has been active in vine growing and winemaking ever since Vittoria was Sicily’s epicentre for exporting wine to France. Since then, this familial vocation has been safeguarded and handed down over generations, with the shared desire to establish a name for the family’s wines on an international level.
There are seven distinct soils in the company’s territory, and each encapsulates the essence of Sicily and the Ragusa province, as well as the Jacono family’s winemaking history and Gaetana’s strength and passion.
Ruby-red. Intense and fruity, small red fruits and spices including licorice. Fresh and velvety, harmonious with particularly inviting tannin. Pair with simple meat dishes, grilled vegetables, meat tartare, medium-seasoned cheese.
100% Nero d’Avola
The notes of citrus fruit, jasmine aromas, and the typical greenish-yellow colour of Insolia have inspired a label showing a reassuring and serene face, which suggests fragrance and balance. The BelliFolli Insolia is fresh with lively acidity and persistent structure. It’s the perfect party wine; pair it with appetizers and fresh cheese.
Soft and brilliant coral pink. Delicate, pleasantly fruity with notes of rose and pomegranate that blend with those of small red fruits creating an unmistakable aromatic intensity. Elegant, fresh and savoury, rich in aromas of small red fruits. Pair with fish or delicately flavoured dishes, shellfish, fresh cheeses, excellent as an aperitif.
A very clear ruby red color. The nose is fragrant, fresh and powerful with hints of red fruits, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, violet flowers and sage. Very vivacious and fresh, particularly because of red fruit and rosebuds, a dry pleasant and persistent finish.
Intense cherry red. Ripe hints of red fruits, blackberries, raspberries and cherries; hints of spices including licorice and cocoa. Soft, full, velvety tannins, persistent and aromatic. Pair with aged D.O.P. Ragusano cheese, complicated and spiced dishes like chicken curry, game pâté, lamb, rabbit.
60% Nero d'Avola | 40% Frappato
Bright straw-coloured yellow. Complex with distinctive aromas of white flowers and minerals. Large, velvety but alive, with great structure and persistence with strong flavour and minerality. Pair with seafood, fried fish and vegetables, tempura, vegetable caponata, marinated.
Golden yellow with greenish reflections. Complex and intense, full of sensations typical of ripe fruit enhanced by hints of vanilla, dried fruit and spices. Complex and persistent, strong personality, good structure, harmonious, elegant and very persistent. Pair with complex fish dishes, seafood, vegetable dishes, quiche Lorraine, bottarga, broad bean “macco.”
