Yalumba 2019 Bush Vine Grenache
93 Points James Halliday
92 Points James Suckling
Yalumba Bush Vine Grenache is the best Australian Grenache we have tasted for under $20. The vines used for this wine are between 35 and 80 years old. They are ancient vines for a wine at this price point, and the fruit they produce offers incredible purity and a wild array of flavours.
“This has attractive raspberries and a creamy, gently spicy edge. Smooth, creamy texture with concentrated raspberry-pastry flavours. Low yields, big flavours”
-James Suckling
This light-bodied and highly aromatic wine shows the bright Barossa Grenache flavours at their individual best.
Saturated with aromas of cherries, perfumed berries, and hints of cracked peppercorns, crunchy red apple and pomegranate flavours merge into velvety tannins.
Established in 1849, Yalumba is Australia’s most historic family-owned wine company. It remains fiercely independent and extremely progressive through the generational ownership by the Hill-Smith family. Yalumba’s longevity and success are a result of patience, collaboration and progressive thinking.
