91 Points Antonio Galloni
This blend of native Sicilian grapes is a fantastic summer red wine. It’s intense but refreshing and not at all ponderous or heavy. It makes a terrific food wine.
“A spicy and smoky mix of crushed blackberries, pepper-tinged florals and minty herbs…it’s round, yet lifted and spry, with hints of sour grapefruit that quickly add a mouthwatering tension as tart wild berries and minerals settle on the palate.”
-Antonio Galloni
Intense cherry red. Ripe hints of red fruits, blackberries, raspberries and cherries; hints of spices including licorice and cocoa. Soft, full, velvety tannins, persistent and aromatic. Pair with aged D.O.P. Ragusano cheese, complicated and spiced dishes like chicken curry, game pâté, lamb, rabbit.

Valle dell’Acate is found in the southeast corner of Sicily, located between the Iblei mountains and the Mediterranean sea in the province of Ragusa. This corner of Sicily has always been a hotbed of vinous activity, but it was in the 1800s that Gaetano Jacono founded the cellars.
