Description
This is a beautifully crafted wine that punches well above its weight. It’s rare at this price point to find Cabernet that tastes like it’s supposed to. This has the structure and savoury elements that so many value Cabs are missing.
“California winemaker, Joel Gott is well-known for the quality of wine he produces and this California Cabernet Sauvignon produced from grapes sourced from the Lodi, Mendocino, Monterey, Napa, Sonoma and Paso Robles is easy to enjoy with lots of dark fruit flavours, dark cherry, earthy, savoury herbs, mint and olive with a kiss of spice on the palate. Tannins are velvety.” – Natalie MacLean
The 815 Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas of bright red fruit, black cherry and raspberry with notes of vanilla and white pepper. The wine opens with dark, concentrated fruit flavours, followed by balanced tannins on the mid-palate, and notes of cedar on the long, textured finish.
Sourced from vineyards in Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Monterey, Mendocino and Lodi. Aged in 25% new American oak for 18 months.
Since Joel Gott Wines was established in 1996, they have selected the best fruit from growing regions in California, Oregon and Washington which they blend to create more balanced, clean, complex and elegant wines. They are geared towards continuing to give customers expressive and food-friendly wines at great prices.
