Description
Famille Carabello-Baum
With its pale lemon colour, the Chassagne-Montrachet “Morgeot” 2017 presents delicate aromas of lemon, pear, and white peaches alongside notes of vanilla and oak. The palate reflects these flavours and displays hints of smoky flavours. Complex and perfectly balanced, with a long finish, this white wine can be appreciated from now, even though it will age gracefully for another ten to fifteen years.
“Morgeot” is the largest Premier Cru of Chassagne-Montrachet. With no less than 21 different climates, it benefits from clay and limestone-rich soils and a south-easterly exposure in the Côte de Beaune, resulting in an intense and full-bodied Chardonnay with long aging potential. First planted in the 15th century, “Morgeot” shares its renowned terroir between Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Fermentation and ageing in the same French oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation. Ageing on fine lees for 12 months. Fining and light filtration before bottling.
100% Chardonnay
