Description
93 Points James Suckling
Hard to beat this for value. Carmen Gran Reserva is a terrific example of how good Chilean Carmenere can be, although you don’t usually see such perfectly ripe and polished examples at this price.
“Really beautiful aromas of blackberries and flowers with black licorice and mushrooms, following through to a full body. Yet, it’s tight and precise with a fine-tannin texture and a long, flavorful finish”.
-James Suckling
Carmen Gran Reserva Carmenere has an intense dark purple colour. The nose is rich and very honest to the variety showing ripe berries, sweet spices and tobacco. Soft touches of pepper and paprika add complexity.
The palate is generous, with a supple texture and sweet tannins that are smooth and concentrated. The wine has persistency and great length.
100% Carmenere
